A fairly simple way to register a complaint is to use this form from the State Human Rights Commission.
If you believe that actions against you or others is discriminatory, filing this form will launch an investigation.
It is a numbers game. The greater number of complaints filed the higher the chances are that actions against senior teachers will be taken seriously.
If you have any documents you would like to post for the benefit of other teachers, let me know.

ReplyDeleteI have been a high school teacher in Seattle schools for about twenty years when a assistant principal started to harasse me and made it a very hostile environment for me to able to teach and be an effective teacher. The SEA forced it self to come and pretended to help me and all she did was counseled me to retire. For twenty years I was very successful and the students were always telling me that I was a great teacher and they learned so well in my classes. After about two years of constant harassement I was completely ineffective and unable to function. I feel I was targeted because of my age.

ReplyDeleteThis is your fellow Colleague who wants to let you know that an individual with whom I work with over at Rainier Beach H.S. is going to communicate to you via this blog.
He is immensely frustrated over his constant harassment from an ASSistant principal who bullied my Mentor last year at Madison.
He also met with you briefly and feels encouraged to communicate this info to you.
Please be on the lookout for what he has to share!
Talk with you soon!
I had the opportunity to listen to Jones and I think it's important for everyone to read what she said. http://nwvoice/politics/OSPI/Jones.html
